"How do you deal with a Big Loss in a Major Tournament"
That what I want to discuss today. As it can be devasting to players when they go deep into a Tournament and comeup short. But more of what I want to talk about is how does it make you feel when you have played a decent game to be ended by a bad call from another player. As most know Freerolls are Notrious for people making bad calls and winning.
Well in today's FREEROLL Super Series II in the $6000 GTD I run into this late in the game. Late Registration was already over with and the re-buy add-on had 4 levels left for all that remained.
In Level 16 I was Small Blind with little over 2oK in chips, Big Blind had 12K in chips. It folded around to me and I shoved All-in for 20k, and instantly the Biig Blind calls for all his chips. You are in a FREEROLL and you can't rebuy, so I opted to play A9o and felt good about my decission. That is until we flopped our cards over and he had A6o vs my A9o. This late into a very lucrative tournament most smart players don't want to risk their whole stack on a mediocore hand that could cost them the tournament. And in this position with junk cards I will fold and live to play another hand. Not this guy he wins it on a straight to 6 and I lose 85% of my stack.
His only reply was that he is wild and its a FREEROLL. How do you respond to such a remark without being angered, he has just cost you the whole tournament just because he wants to be wild. I eventually went out a couple hands later because of the blinds, but regardless it was a costly call for him to make and yes it worked out good for him. But on the other hand it left me crippled and no way to re-buy.
So out of this whole thing I am asking you "How do you deal with a Big Loss in a Major Tournament"?
I just closed out the Poker Client and walked off. As there is no logical explanation for his calling in that hand. And it leaves me wondering do most of the players that play poker now, do they really know what a hand is and when to play it.
Tell me your thoughts !!!!
